Warranty, Shipping, and Other Stuff
Our Warranty
It's pretty simple, really: we are proud to stand behind all our work. If you should find any flaw in our workmanship or in the materials we used to build your natural bed, we are happy to redo the work or replace any defective materials that you may notice upon receiving your bed from us. Once the bed is in your hands, however, the way it performs over the years is dependent on a number of factors including frequency of use and regularity of maintenance. Most importantly, the use of a 100% natural mattress pad is crucial to our being able to stand behind our work. Tampering with a bed/topper in any way will void all warranties implied or otherwise.
Used Merchandise and Rebuilds
We never employ any used materials in our beds. This means that we cannot accept exchanges or returns on used merchandise. But fear not! We can work with you to rebuild or augment your bed, topper, or Soaring Heart-made pillow (when possible) so it feels and performs the way you want. And provided you always use a 100% natural fiber mattress pad, we can rebuild your bed or topper for you indefinitely! As in forever! If you live in the Seattle area, you can simply call us for an appointment to bring your bed in for a consultation and subsequent rebuild. If you live out of the area, you may ship your bed back to us for a rebuild. You will be responsible for shipping costs to us and for whatever materials we use to rebuild your bed, but labor and return shipping to you is free. That way, everybody wins!
We don't offer returns, exchanges, or refunds on used merchandise. Any potential exchange or return of unused merchandise must be scheduled with the general manager and is subject to his/her approval. All approved returns must be accompanied by the original receipt. A mimimum fee of 10% of the purchase price will be assessed by Soaring Heart as a restocking fee on approved returns, exchanges, or cancellations.
Shipping Options
We ship most single & double beds, wool toppers, and smaller items via UPS. We ship most queen & king beds, all innerspring mattresses, box spring sets and furniture via Seko Worldwide.
Seko will call you once your purchase has arrived in your area to set up a delivery time. Delivery to your door is covered by the standard service fee. If you will not be able to help the driver unload your purchase, especially when it comes to bulkier items, you may opt for an additional two-person, inside delivery fee of $75. This option also covers bringing your items into your home and placing them in the appropriate room.
You can request the two-person, inside delivery option when you check out using the Soaring Heart shopping cart, on the Shipping Options page (Step 3).
Receiving Your Purchase
When you receive your purchase, please inspect the packaging. If you see any rips in the plastic or cardboard or see any other shipping-related problems, please describe what you see on the bill of lading before you sign it, ask the driver to sign it, then call us immediately.
Returns
If for some reason you do need to return something that is defective, damaged, or simply the wrong item (sometimes it happens, we're all human), please call us to make arrangements. Depending on the circumstances, you may be responsible for return shipping charges, and restocking fees may apply. Again, please note that we do not accept returns on used merchandise.
Other Stuff
Please note that Soaring Heart cannot remove or haul away your old futon or mattress. If you live in the Seattle area, consider donating your mattress to a charitable organization (sometimes they'll even pick up the mattress for free), or contact Seattle Public Utilities customer service at (206) 684-3000 to arrange an inexpensive (usually about $30 per item) pickup of your mattress, futon, or box spring.
When you open an organic cotton bed, you may notice a natural odor. This is the fragrant build up of cottonseed oil being released from the packaging. If it irritates you, don't sleep on the bed right away, but allow it to air out in a well-ventilated room. The natural scent will dissipate in a short time. If the smell continues to bother you, contact us to arrange a return or for further advice, but do not sleep on the bed as we cannot accept returns once the bed has been used.
Like most small businesses, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion. Not that we've ever had to, but just in case a situation requiring it ever comes up, we do reserve that right.
