Heading off to college? Here's a couple ideas for a cozy dorm room this Fall!

Moving away for college can be a major transition, especially if you're moving off to an unfamiliar town. In my experience, it's all about making that new space you're moving into feel like home, making it your very own, and most importantly a place that you want to spend time in!

At Soaring Heart we know how to maximize comfort in a small space. So whether you have your own studio, or are sharing a dorm room, we have some great products to consider adding to your new setup!

Organic Cotton & Wool Futon

For comfort and raw-material simplicity, our organic cotton & wool futon is a classic. Similar to Soaring Heart's original futon from the early days of the company, this modern day equivalent continues to make appearances in dorm rooms across the country. This futon has a layer of wool wrapped around the cotton core, which is then fitted inside an organic cotton encasement.

And remember, these futons can fold, so in addition to making transport a little easier, they make the perfect bed in a smaller space.

Organic Cotton, Latex & Wool Futon

Similar in build and style to our cotton & wool futon, but with a latex inner core. A more luxurious, even softer option, with the added benefit of reduced creasing when folded over again and again, thanks to the latex! Softer and a little loftier than our cotton & wool futon, you can expect either of these options to last eight to fifteen years, and perhaps even longer!

Pismo Blanket from Coyuchi

This beautiful blanket comes from Coyuchi, based out of San Francisco. The makers of all our sheets sold at Soaring Heart, Coyuchi always uses organic cotton of the highest quality. This blanket comes in a throw, full/queen, and king size, and its soft, light weight makes it the perfect secondary blanket to have on the bed year round, just waiting to wrap you up! Check out the different colors in the link above.

300 Thread Count Percale Sheets

Sometimes, sheets alone can make all the difference on your bed- comfort for when you're asleep or awake. Also from Coyuchi, these 300 TC sheets are affordable, crisp, and cool, made to be used over and over again. Coyuchi makes it possible to purchase two sheets, and two pillowcases as a set, or separately! So check out the link above to browse options and colors.

- Great sleep is challenge for so many people.  It is wonderful to have a place to go and validate that there are ways to have fun exploring new approaches to great sleep, breaking bad habits, and celebrating our enchantment with the "Village of Nothing Much" instead of the 900 emails awaiting our response or the family task list that never, ever seems to end.

Mark my words - you will love listening to Kathryn even more when you're snuggling up in one of our lovingly made Soaring Heart beds!  Sweet Dreams.
