Organic Wool Mattress Pad (Elastic)

  • Did you know that you lose about a pint of moisture every single night? Some of that is released in our breath, but most of it is sweat and body oil and it goes straight down, into your mattress. Unpleasant, right? Organic Wool Mattress Pad (Sold as single count) are made from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)certified organic felted wool, and acts as a barrier against sweat, body oils, accidents, and spills by absorbing the moisture before it reaches your mattress. By using a mattress pad you are keeping your mattress clean, preserving the materials and craftsmanship, and potentially doubling its lifespan. How important do we think using an all-natural or organic mattress pad is? Our 20 Year Warranty is contingent upon you owning and using one. Organic Wool Mattress Pad (Elastic)

Wonderful wonderful wonderful

We bought a whole bed set from Soaring Heart two years ago, and at that time bought Coyuchi's organic cotton mattress pad (sold at the store) to go with the new bed. That mattress pad is lovely in terms of it being organic and the high quality that Coyuchi is; however, this wool Soaring Heart mattress pad is unparalleled and I would recommend it to everyone who can afford it and isn't allergic to wool. This wool pad is a cinch to put over the mattress--and we have a mattress, one of the wool toppers, and the holy lamb fleece topper (meaning, lots for the mattress pad to cover). No more wrestling to put the mattress pad over all of these layers and an extraordinarily heavy mattress. Plus--and this is the best part in terms of comfort--our bed is much, much more cushy than when we were using the cotton mattress pad. Whereas the cotton one scrunches down the two toppers, making the bed harder than my husband and I prefer, this wool mattress pad allows the toppers to really keep their cushy integrity and you can feel that cushiness through the wool mattress pad. The bed is no longer too firm for us. I wondered if the mattress pad would shift around given that it attaches to the mattress with just four strips of elastic, but it has been no problem and again, putting it on is a breeze. Then of course is the beauty of wool to absorb oils and sweat and the breathability inherent to wool. Absolutely cannot recommend this with more enthusiasm! Wish we'd bought the wool mattress pad the first time around. If you are on the fence and can afford it, buy this mattress pad to keep the lovely feel of your (very expensive) new bed or toppers intact.

On Top

Easier to wash than the kind of topper that wraps around the the whole mattress, air dries decently given that its wool. Does smell like a wet sheep after you wash it but is fine once it dries. The moisture absorbing is especially beneficial for the hot summer.
