Layers

Our beds are built in layers.  Each mattress is a collection of layers specially designed to create the perfect night's sleep, such as a latex mattress, Deluxe Wool Topper and cotton mattress pad.  This concept can be a bit abstract--it certainly isn't the bedding world's norm.  Often times we are asked about this, something along the lines of "why the layer system?"  (we have always prided ourselves on the directness of our patrons).

In 2007 the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a regulation for all mattresses to contain a flame retardant layer, and be subject to flame testing to ensure they can withstand open flame exposure for an extended period of time.  Although this is a good regulation when a manufacturer is willing to handle with care, not all mattresses are made with such caution; and this regulation has led to harmful chemicals making their way into our homes and bedrooms.
